Moving Mountains
From 8 – 11 March 2018 we were joined by teams led by Methodist District Chairs, URC Moderators, Bishops and Salvation Army District Commanders. Teams were a mix of lay people, youth workers, ordinands and clergy.
What happened?
There was a full programme for the weekend, reports and more photos to folow.
What were the aims of the mission?
Many of those attending were not connected to a church. There were different events so that people who are at different stages on their journey of faith had a chance to move forward. Churches will be running events in 2019/20 as part of the mission initiative through God for All.

For events in specific churches, please see the main Calendar link on the right.

New Plan and Link available
The Preaching Plan for the next quarter (Jan-Mar 2018) and the Link magazine are now available from the Downloads page.

Welcome to the Whitehaven Methodist Circuit
In this part of the lovely West coast of Cumbria, our Circuit nestles between the villages of Moresby Parks in the north and Seascale in the south, and includes the towns of Whitehaven, Cleator Moor and Egremont. We are also in a Local Ecumenical Partnership with the Church of England at Kirkland Mission, near the beautiful Ennerdale Water.
Our churches seek to be welcoming - open to everyone whatever their age, race, gender or social circumstances. The majority of our churches have easy access and loop systems for those with hearing difficulties.
We affirm that the Methodist Church exists to:
  • increase awareness of God's presence and to celebrate God's love;
  • help people to grow and learn as Christians through mutual support and care;
  • be a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice;
  • make more followers of Jesus Christ.
As Christians, we seek to work as individual churches, and with other churches and community groups, to fulfil the above purposes both locally and in the wider world, through worship, learning, caring, service and evangelism.
We are sure that you will be warmly welcomed, either as a visitor or if you have moved into the area, in any of our churches, details of which can be found elsewhere on this site. We look forward to meeting you.

Rev Dr Wendy Kilworth-Mason
Superintendent Minister
